How to change your Facebook Shared Image
One of the most common ways to advertise your landing page is by sharing it on Facebook. But you will surely want the image displayed beside your link to be an image of your business or product, and not just some random image.
To change the image of the shared post displayed in Facebook to an image of your choice, follow these instructions:
- Upload the image that you want to be displayed on Facebook to your Pagewiz account using our landing page designer. The image has to be bigger than 200x200px.
- Obtain the image URL: Add the image to your landing page > save your landing page > click ‘Preview’ > Right click on the image that you’ve just added and click 'Copy Image Address'.
You can now return to the designer and delete the image from your landing page.
- Add and customize the following code to your landing page.
<meta property="og:image" content="PASTE YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/>
<meta property="og:title" content="ENTER YOUR POST TITLE HERE" />
<meta property="og:description" content="WRITE YOUR POST DESCRIPTION HERE" />
Add this to the page from within the designer by clicking ‘Page Settings’ > ‘Scripts & Styles’ > ‘JS scripts’ > ‘+Add a new script’.
Place the code in the 'Head' section of the page. Do not add script tags and don’t forget to save your page.
One last step: To update the image on Facebook, use the Facebook object debugger. Paste your published landing page URL (preferably your custom URL) in the specified place and click ‘Fetch new scrape information’.
That’s it, You’re done!
Now your Facebook post will show the image that you want.
